SHAH ALAM, March 17 — Approximately RM1.165 million has been channelled to 4,520 families residing in Klang, who were affected by the floods in November last year, said Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said each family in certain localities, including Kampung Budiman, Meru, and Taman Melawis, received a RM500 donation.
"The State Disaster Management Unit handed over RM1.165 million on February 17, to the Klang District and Land Office.
"Help will be handed over in stages to the affected families at the land office," Amirudin said during the wind-up session on the debate over the royal speech by Sultan Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting earlier today.
Meanwhile, he said Sistem Smart Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat (SSIPR) will be improved upon and updated, following the rebranding of Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat to Iltizam Selangor Penyayang.
The state government will also consider combining the Federal government's Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah aid with Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (Bingkas).
"What is important here is the data, whether our data is in parallel, and if we need to expand it or make further additions.
"With the close cooperation between Federal and state governments, I am confident we can make additions and coordinate with one another so that many more can receive the help they need," Amirudin said.
