PETALING JAYA, March 1: The 2023 Asnaf Aspiration Programme is the best platform to help improve the economy and lift the underprivileged group out of poverty.

Caring Muslim Women's Association (PWIP) president Mashita Abdul Rahim said the programme, which is organised for the first time in conjunction with the organisation’s fifth anniversary, is to help the underprivileged group, especially single mothers, to venture into business.

“This programme is a paradigm shift that provides a platform to help the underprivileged develop their capacity in the field of business.

"We are confident that Asnaf Aspiration will be a benchmark for the success of the community since it is implemented with strategic cooperation with business figures and influential figures who have proven their success,” she said during a press conference in conjunction with the launch of 2023 Asnaf Aspiration at the One World Hotel, here yesterday which was officiated by Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin.

Also present was the Selangor Women's Welfare and Charity Organisation president Datin Seri Masdiana Muhamad.

Mashita said the programme, which has the support of government agencies and corporate bodies, offers opportunities to the target group who are ambitious, want to be independent and change their lives.

"A total of three selected single mothers will participate in this programme where we provide guidance in terms of marketing, account management and financial assistance to help them grow their businesses.

"We will monitor and guide them for three to five years and after they are able to be independent, we will release them to run their own business," she said.
