KL JPJ holds outreach programme for frontliners

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 16 — The Kuala Lumpur Road Transport Department (JPJ) has launched an outreach programme for frontliners as an advocacy for the MyJPJ app and other services of the department.

Its public relations officer Siti Maryam Anuar said they kicked off this initiative at Wisma Bernama here today for the benefit of its staff who were usually busy with work commitments.

"After this, we will be visiting other offices, including hospitals and universities. If private companies require this service, they can contact the Road Safety Unit of KL JPJ,” she said when met here.

Meanwhile, commenting on public concerns regarding MyJPJ, Siti Maryam said the use of the MyJPJ app was not compulsory under the first phase of its implementation.

"Members of the public who do not have smartphones to use the MyJPJ app can still get their physical driving licence and road tax. We will use the hybrid system until the end of this year. After that we will wait for further announcements from the minister,” she said.

At the outreach programme at Wisma Bernama, counter services for JPJ Mobile, registration of public ID for mySIKAP, road safety advocacy and inspection of motorcycles whose road tax had expired for more than three years were also available.
