SHAH ALAM, Feb 11 — The former Menteri Besar Tan Sri Muhammad Taib praises the state government’s efforts to redevelop the Shah Alam Sports Complex (KSSA) with the latest technology concept.

He said the time has come for the complex which also includes the state stadium to be rebuilt due to many damages to infrastructure and internal facilities.

“This is a new and interesting development. It is good that these changes are made for a better future because the old stadium is not suitable now.

"I hope that whoever is given the responsibility can manage this stadium as best as possible so that there is no more damage like before," he said when met after inspecting the KSSA redevelopment project exhibition at the SACC Mall, here yesterday.

On February 2, Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said KSSA, which is expected to be fully completed in 2026, is estimated to cost between RM700 million and RM1 billion.

However, he said that the actual cost of the complex will be revealed to the public at the end of this month.

Commenting further, Muhammad said the cost of building the stadium was reasonable based on the design and technology used.

"I was informed that the state government will not spend on the construction of the new stadium, but the private sector will.

"I hope this new stadium can be used well for a long period of time so that the stadium operator does not have to spend a lot of money to repair any damage," he said.
