SHAH ALAM, Feb 7 — The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports is satisfied with the engagement session held by the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI to gather ideas from the public before the Shah Alam Sports Complex (KSSA) redevelopment project begins.

Adam Adli Abdul Halim called on the public, especially the people of Selangor, to continue to take advantage of the opportunity to give ideas for the development project involving the state’s stadium which is expected to start in the first quarter of this year.

"We do not deny that there will be different responses, but this is an opportunity for the community to do so because the ideas of the public, especially the youths, are very interesting.

"I also hope that the parties involved can carefully consider the (proposals) that are collected and continue (the redevelopment) taking into account the latest needs. KBS (Youth and Sports Ministry) is open to any deeper engagement sessions in the future," he said when met by SelangorKini today.

Earlier, Adam Adli inspected the redevelopment project exhibition at the SACC Mall here together with MBI Special Projects Unit general manager Datuk Ruslan Abdul Aziz and Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) executive president Datuk Dell Akbar Khan Hyder Khan.

The minister said KBS will contact the parties involved from time to time to get feedback on the KSSA redevelopment project.

"We are of course very excited (about KSSA redevelopment) and will continue to be in touch with MBI and the MRCB developer.

"It is good for us to have comprehensive involvement in the development of sports complexes and so on. I appreciate MBI and MRCB for being among the important parties willing to develop projects of public interest,” he said.

Starting from January 26 to February 10, MBI is organising an engagement session to provide accurate information regarding the proposed KSSA project in addition to getting feedback from the public.

The public also has the opportunity to get a real picture of the 76.08 hectare development project.
