SHAH ALAM, Feb 7 — Recipients of the Skim Mesra Usia Emas (SMUE) in Permatang constituency who were born in February have been urged to redeem their Jom Shopping vouchers at the community service centre.
Its state assemblyman Rozana Zainal Abidin said the vouchers worth RM150 could be utilised to buy necessities at Best Fresh Mart Supermarket in Tanjong Karang.
“As of now, some 939 vouchers have been redeemed in January while only 280 for this month. The number of recipients who have redeemed their vouchers is lower than the total number of registered participants.
“Hopefully the vouchers could help reduce the recipients’ burden and at the same time make them happy on their birthdays,” she said when contacted.
Previously, the state government announced that the eligibility household limit for the Jom Shopping voucher has been increased from RM2,000 to RM3,000 monthly beginning this year.
Recipients will also receive vouchers worth RM150 per year compared to RM100 last year including bereavement benefits of RM500.
