SHAH ALAM, Jan 27 — The Selangor Preschool Centre for Special Needs Children (Anis), which was established early this month, will be built in suburban areas such as Rawang, Kuala Selangor and Kuala Langat.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the free preschool for children with disabilities (OKU) was introduced to create a welcoming and harmonious state for all.

He said the daycare centre accepts OKU children who are five to six years old, born in Selangor, and have been diagnosed with health conditions such as global developmental delay, Down syndrome and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

“Recently, the Anis Preschool Centre was officially launched to provide special needs children with an opportunity to learn at their own pace.

“Selangor is the only state that has a specific education ecosystem for special needs children,” he said on Facebook.

On January 12, Amirudin launched the first Anis Preschool Centre in Section 7, Shah Alam, with a total allocation of RM1.25 million.

The centre was built on 42.7 square metres of land and included with three classrooms, a pantry, a prayer room, a kitchen, two teachers' rooms, an administration room, two stores, and an OKU toilet.
