SHAH ALAM, Jan 27 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, is looking into conducting a public engagement roadshow in each of the districts in Selangor to ensure inclusivity in the development of the Shah Alam Sports Complex (KSSA).

Its Special Projects Unit general manager Datuk Roslan Abdul Aziz said that this was to ensure that the people of Selangor would also be involved in the project.

“The KSSA development project is not only about the stadium, but it will include recreational, leisure, and business areas as well. Therefore, it is for everyone,” he told SelangorKini when recently met.

Roslan said that every factor and element received from public comments and recommendations on the development of the sports complex will be taken into consideration, particularly from the public engagement session that is currently being held until February 10.

“The people are invited to come and give their feedback so that we can assess and examine what is needed to be included in the development of the project,” he said.

The KSSA public engagement session is open to the public from January 26 to February 10 at the SACC Mall, here, from 10am to 10pm.

The public can also channel their feedback via email at kssa.maklumbalas@gmail.com.

On 5 January, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari stated that the redevelopment of the Shah Alam stadium, including the state stadium, will commence in the first quarter of the year.

He said that the KSSA project will be implemented via a public-private partnership, where no public funds will be used as the development cost will be entirely covered by Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB).

He also said that a total of RM787 million will be spent on repair works for the stadium and its other facilities, including raising the stadium platform by 1.5 meters to prevent repeated flooding and changing the electrical wiring system.
