SHAH ALAM, Jan 26 — The Selangor Unity Committee has shortlisted 30 proposals that are eligible to be submitted for the ‘Kita Selangor’ 2023 Unity Grant presentation session today.
State executive councillor for unity Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said since its opening on January 9 to 20, the grant has received 397 applications from various agencies, associations and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
“After the committee has processed and evaluated each application in detail, a total of 30 proposals have been shortlisted and will go through a pitching session tomorrow (today).
“Successful (shortlisted) applicants were notified via email yesterday (Tuesday),” she told SelangorKini.
Previously, Dr Siti Mariah said that the ‘Kita Selangor’ Unity Grant involved a total fund of RM250,000.
The grant is an initiative of the state government through the Unity Committee to strengthen the message of unity through programmes, research and one-off or periodic initiatives involving people from various backgrounds and races.
The grant amount that can be applied for is between RM10,000 to RM20,000 for each application, depending on the approval of the Grant Evaluation Committee.
The proposed programme should coincide with one of the themes of unity in education, sports, volunteer activities, cultural arts, patriotism and nationhood, curbing discrimination and other appropriate fields.
