SHAH ALAM, Jan 17 — A total of 25,000 underprivileged families will benefit from the Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (Bingkas) programme which was launched in July last year, says state executive councillor for industry and trade Dato’ Teng Chang Khim.

He said the assistance of RM300 a month or RM3,600 a year contained in the Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP) is one of the measures to support the people to have a better life.

“Registration for the aid is still open to help ease the burden of the target group. We aim for about 30,000 families to receive this assistance.

“If the number of recipients remains the same, it means that the population’s economy is recovering. We are ready to help the residents, but do not expect the number of recipients to increase because it is related to their economy,” said Teng at a press conference yesterday.

Bingkas, which replaces Kasih Ibu Smart Selangor (Kiss) and Kiss Ibu Tunggal (for single mothers), is a scheme included in the ISP involving an allocation of RM108 million.

On Auguest 1, Teng announced that Bingkas payments will be distributed through the Wavpay e-wallet app to make it easier for recipients to shop.
