SHAH ALAM, Jan 16 — A total of 477 early visitors to the Shah Alam City Council's (MBSA) Vehicle Free Day programme received free t-shirts from the local authority yesterday.

Its Corporate and Public Relations Division head Shahrin Ahmad said the t-shirts were given in conjunction with the programme’s seventh anniversary celebration.

"Giving the free t-shirts is MBSA's way of showing appreciation to visitors who have been loyal to the programme since 2016.

"The reception was encouraging and more than 3,000 visitors came to enliven the programme. Thanks to everyone who has always supported us," he told SelangorKini.

The programme held at the Dataran Kemerdekaan Shah Alam also presented a variety of interesting activities including a lion dance performance in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.

In addition, Shahrin said a total of 40 contributors participated in the 'Eco Free Market' programme which is a distribution and redistribution of used goods for free.

"Visitors only need to bring recycled goods to get a coupon that allows them to buy goods offered by donors at the 'Eco Free Market'," he said.

Various other interesting activities were also held including the 'Fun Run' event, leisure cycling, aerobics, cultural dance performances, MBSA combo performances and the presentation of prizes for the most creative fashion.

MBSA also provided activities for children such as inflatable balloons, clowns, light cars, craft activities at the Anggerik Vanilla Mobile Library and superhero mascots.

Various services were also provided such as the operation of Shah Alam On Wheels mobile office, the Mobile Library and the Seda-10 exhibition (search and destroy Aedes in 10 Minutes).
