SHAH ALAM, Jan 16 — The state government has allocated some RM222,600 under the Selangor Mental Sihat (Sehat) programme for mental health treatment in Selangor.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said through the incentive, the state government will bear the costs for screening, psychiatrist’s consultation, basic psychotherapy treatment and medicines for the first two weeks of the treatment.
“This incentive is under the Sehat programme with a total allocation of RM222,600,” he said on Twitter.
Meanwhile, in a separate post on Facebook, Amirudin said the programme could benefit individuals from low-income groups and those who are facing mental issues can take advantage of this opportunity as psychiatric treatment could be costly.
“Let’s help them to achieve better mental health,” he said.
The Sehat programme provides 700 subsidised mental treatment slots in Selangor.
On December 20 last year, state executive councillor of public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud urged residents in Selangor to update the Selangor Mental Health (Sehat) 2.0 function in their SELangkah app.
She said this is necessary as the app itself had been updated with several new additions including the addition of mental health screening tests, 60 Sehat psychoeducational videos, four Sehat modules and user interface features.
