SHAH ALAM, Dec 2 — The Traditional Games Museum in Kuala Selangor is expected to reopen to visitors by mid-January next year.

Selangor state executive councillor for culture and heritage Borham Aman Shah said the interior design and exhibition spaces works were completed on November 30 and currently, furnishing activities are being actively carried out.

“In addition, the mural painting works on the outer wall of the museum will begin on December 15 and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

“We expect the Traditional Games Museum to be reopened in mid-January next year,” he said during the wind-up of the 2023 Selangor Budget, at the State Legislative Assembly sitting yesterday.

Meanwhile, Borhan also informed that upgrading works on the Kuala Selangor History Museum is actively underway and is expected to be completed by December 15 next year.

“Small repair works such as painting the building, repairing leaking roofs and others are being actively done before reopening to visitors,” he said.

Previously, Bukit Melawati state assemblyman Juwairiya Zulkifli suggested that the Traditional Games Museum in Kuala Selangor be renovated to preserve heritage assets in the state.

She said that the effort needs to be mobilised by the Selangor Malay Customs and Heritage Corporation (Padat) and the museums existence will also encourage the tourism sector in Kuala Selangor, in line with Visit Malaysia 2022
