SHAH ALAM, Nov 25 — The second phase of the solar LED street lights programme will be continued throughout Selangor with an allocation of RM3 million, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said the programme is part of the state government’s effort to introduce the use of solar LED-based street lamps in all state constituencies.
“The programme is in line with our endeavour to create a greener environment and expand sustainable development in Selangor,” he said when tabling the 2023 Selangor Budget at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly, here today.
He added that the state government is resolved to narrow the development gap between the districts by expanding the road networks.
“To achieve this target, we have approved a RM145 million allocation to the Works Department for the implementation of roads projects in 2023,” he said.
Other allocations related to road construction and management include:
RM11.8 million for the construction of bridges and overhead pedestrian crossings in Kg Sungai Buah in Sepang, and Laluan B44 Jalan Hulu Bernam - Sungai Besar in Hulu Selangor, which will commence in 2023.
RM40.98 million for the ongoing construction of new roads, including a road connecting Kampung Sri Indah A to Hospital Sungai Buloh (RM10.98 million), a road connecting Sg Kelambu to Genting Sanyen (RM13.5 million), and a road from Kampung Ulu Chuchuh to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (RM16 million).
RM65.3 million to ensure existing roads can accommodate the increasing traffic flow and overcome congestion issues on state roads.
