SHAH ALAM, Oct 19 — A total of 34,174 residents in Selangor received immediate insurance coverage under the Skim Insurans Am Selangor (Insan) general insurance scheme, said Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI.
Its strategic corporate department head Raja Nor Izah Raja Jaafar said the scheme has been well-received, with approximately 39,886 applications received since October 1.
“Those applying will get instant approval, and as of now nearly 40,000 submissions have been received through the Wavpay e-wallet.
“Meanwhile, some applications were rejected due to technical errors, like applicants who are not registered voters,” she said when contacted.
Raja Nor Izah also urged state assemblymen to help their constituents fill up the online applications, especially for those residing in rural areas.
On August 30, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced that six million of Selangor citizens will receive free insurance coverage, which will be fully borne by the state government.
