SABAK BERNAM, Oct 15 — Selangor Pakatan Harapan (PH) will nominate a candidate from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) for the Sungai Besar parliamentary seat for the upcoming the 15th general election.
Its chairman Dato’ Amirudin Shari said the coalition would also name a candidate from the Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) for the Sabak Bernam parliamentary seat.
“We have made a decision, InsyaAllah (God willing), Sabak Bernam will be contested by Amanah. As we are united under the PH coalition, PKR and the Democratic Action Party (DAP) must show their support.
“As for the Sungai Besar parliamentary seat, I hope our comrades from Amanah and DAP will work together as a team to defend the seat,” he said during the launch of the PH election machinery in Sungai Besar and Sabak Bernam, here today.
Amirudin, who is also the Selangor Menteri Besar, said GE15 is the platform to return the people’s mandate as the country is in a critical situation.
“The country’s debt keeps rising and the Corruption Perceptions Index has also increased. When PH was governing the country, the index had gone lower, somehow it kept rising when Umno took over the administration.
“Therefore, we all must work hard to win again this time and it has to begin from our respective parliamentary areas.
“InsyaAllah (God willing), we can win them all and let’s begin the victory in Sabak Bernam and Sungai Besar,” he said.
