SHAH ALAM, Oct 5 — The interview session for the Independent Living Support Centre (ILSC) programme for those aged 17 to 22 with special needs is expected to be held in November.
Selangor Special Needs Children (Anis) Centre’s department head Daniel Al-Rashid Haron said that currently, there are about 10 applications that have been received for the first session of the skilled course for special needs youth.
“For this initial stage, we target 40 students and they will be called in for an interview. From there, we will be able to understand their inclination and interests.
“Selected students will be sent to two training locations, namely Selayang for tailoring and baking, and in Bandar Sunway for office management, digital technology and artificial intelligence,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini today.
The state government has allocated RM1 million to the ILSC programme to ensure its success.
It offers courses in tailoring, baking, office management, digital technology and artificial intelligence.
The course is for those aged 17 to 22 and aims to increase employment opportunities for the special needs group.
