SUBANG, Sept 10 — The Selangor Aviation Show (SAS) 2022 has generated RM1.7 billion in potential transactions value from 14 agreements inked throughout the three-day event, said state executive councillor for investment, industry and trade Dato’ Teng Chang Khim.

He said as the event continues until it is officially closed at 6pm today, the transaction value could increase higher as there will be more memorandum of understanding (MoU) and memorandum of undertaking (MoA) that will be signed.

“The value has far exceeded our expectation of RM700 million. The initial target itself has increased seven-fold from the RM100 million in transactions recorded last year,” he said after witnessing the MoU and MoA signing ceremony involving several local and international companies at the air show, here this morning.

Among the MoU signed today were between Aerovione Sdn Bhd and Czech Aviation Training Centre; the Malaysian Sports Aviation Federation (MSAF) and Persatuan Seniman Malaysia as well as MSAF and Aerospace Solutions Sdn Bhd.

Also in attendance was Invest Selangor Berhad (Invest Selangor) chief executive officer Dato’ Hasan Azhari Idris.

Meanwhile, Teng said the event continues to draw a large number of crowds as it opens to the public today.

“The atmosphere is very lively, I have never seen such a crowd where everyone seemed to be so excited to attend this event along with their spouses and children.

“Most of them took advantage of the school holidays and the air show also provided an opportunity for the public visitors to see various static display aircraft including light aircraft, private jets, amphibious aircraft as well as drones.

“This could be a new experience for the visitors because the chance to get closer and go onboard aircraft that mostly cater to the business and general aviation doesn’t come easily,” he added.

The SAS 2022 is held from Thursday (September 8) until today and it also features industry-specific talks and forums to share the latest information, knowledge and news among the attendees as well as its visitors.

Participants also have a chance to get the latest updates and lookout for new business opportunities as well as build long-term relationships with other industry players.
