SHAH ALAM, Sept 8 — Some 500 heads and secretaries of traditional villages attended an integrity course at Auditorium Dewan Jubli Perak on Monday (September 5).
State executive councillor for rural development and traditional villages Borhan Aman Shah said the course is aimed at further strengthening the heads and secretaries' leadership abilities, enabling them to provide excellent service to their communities.
"Before this, courses were held only when related to administration. However, this time we are the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is a part of the course as we want the participants to focus on integrity when carrying out their duties.
"In addition, several related agencies were also included to provide information about programmes organised by the state government, like Selangor Saring and Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (Bingkas), which the village heads and secretaries can communicate to residents," he said.
Borhan added that similar courses on the district level are being planned for the near future.
"Not everyone can attend the course as the hall's capacity is limited. Village heads alone account for nearly 400 individuals, let alone the secretaries.
"As such, we plan to conduct the course on the district level, so everybody can attend in order to manage the village with excellence and integrity," he said.
