SHAH ALAM, Aug 5 — Some 69 seedbed operators along the Sungai Buloh Highway in Petaling were transferred to the Smart Selangor Agro Park (SSAP) in Bukit Changgang, Kuala Langat.

The Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) said the operators would begin their operations in a 20-acre area starting this October.

"The transfer will enable development in Sungai Buloh, including the multi-storey road construction project and road expansion by the developer Kwasa Land.

"All the entrepreneurs agreed to the relocation, and were subsequently provided with a rental site of 1,000 square meters each," it told SelangorKini.

The operators were provided with their offer letters during a handover ceremony by state executive councillor for agricultural modernization Izham Hashim at Wisma PKPS in Section 14 yesterday.

PKPS added that cleaning and infrastructure works, including road construction, drainage, as well as electricity and water supply are being carried out to facilitate business affairs.

In March, Izham said the 50-acre SSAP was developed in Bukit Changgang, Kuala Langat, with 30 acres set aside to serve as the seed center.

The initiative was specifically designed to ensure Selangor's food supply and its security, as well as to provide opportunities of economic resources for youths.

Through this, a total of 30 new agropreneurs can be created via different business fields including growers, marketers, logistics operators, and direct sales traders of fresh produce.
