GOMBAK, July 31 — Over 25,000 students have benefitted from the Selangor People’s Tutoring Programme (PTRS) this year after the initiative was expanded to primary school pupils.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said other than providing extra classes, the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI also funded the students’ lunch meal cost.

“These students, especially from Form Four and Form Five were at risk of failing their academic examination if they were not given assistance such as extra classes and intensive drills.

“Therefore, through PTRS, we could help them get their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) certificate. If they put in extra effort during the programme, they could score and get excellent results,” he said at a media conference during the Selangor Penyayang roadshow at Padang Awam Batu Caves, here today.

On November 26 last year, Amirudin announced the allocation of RM7 million for PTRS while tabling the 2022 Selangor Budget.

The allocation aims to solidify the ePTRS.my portal content and strengthen the teacher’s skill, among all.
