SUBANG JAYA, July 14 — The opening of a new route at Jalan Kinrara 6 connecting it to Persiaran Puncak Jalil has benefited an estimated 40,000 residents in the surrounding area.
Kinrara state assemblyman Ng Sze Han said the road, which opened on Friday with a cost of over RM7 million, also included the construction of a drainage system and makes it easier for the public to get in and out of Kuala Lumpur.
He said the route had been completed earlier this year but needed time to be opened to users due to technical issues, such as installing traffic lights.
"The earlier plan did not include traffic lights but the Subang Jaya City Council felt it is necessary to install the amenity, for road users' safety. It was subsequently installed by the developer at a cost of RM160,000.
"This new road can benefit residents in and around Bandar Kinrara, Damai Utama and Puncak Jalil, in addition to making it easier to get in and out of Kuala Lumpur," Ng said after inspecting the road today.
He added the road's construction also helps residents to save around 15 minutes to Puchong, and avoid the road in front of Pangsapuri Enggang from becoming congested.
"Before the road was built, residents needed to pass by Pangsapuri Enggang, which resulted in considerable traffic congestion since there are 1,000 units in the apartment," Ng said.
