KLANG, July 10 — The Selangor Indian Business Forum will be held this August as part of efforts to assist entrepreneurs from the community in identifying more initiatives offered by the state government, said Sentosa state assemblyman Dr G Gunarajah.

He said the programme, in collaboration with Yayasan Hijrah Selangor, is to develop the entrepreneurs.

“Many entrepreneurs only know the initiatives provided by the Selangor government including the Selangor Indian Entrepreneur Development (Sitham) programme and the Selangor Indian Empowerment and Entrepreneurs Development (i-SEED) programme

"In fact, there are also other offers they do not know of, including a loan of up to RM100,000 to open a business and other facilities which will be explained at the forum later," Dr Gunarajah said.

He was speaking at the press conference after the Conclusion of the Roadmap Programme on Shaping the Narrative for the Development of the Malaysian Indian Community at the Sentosa community service centre here yesterday.

Also in attendance was Klang MP Charles Santiago.

Gunarajah added that as a start, some 200 Indian entrepreneurs are expected to be involved in the forum where they will be taken on a tour to have a look at the initiatives on offer.

Earlier on, the roadmap programme at the Wyndham Achmar Hotel saw 96 participants from 63 NGOs take part.

Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said reviews were conducted and solutions were found for all issues raised by the community, including schools, technical education and vocational training (TVET) and entrepreneurship.
