SHAH ALAM, June 30 — The public is invited to undergo health screening through the Selangor Saring programme during the Selangor Penyayang roadshow at the Kuala Selangor Stadium, on June 2.
The free programme organised by the state government offers physical screening, blood and urine tests, eye, cervical and breast cancer, occult or colorectal faecal blood testing, and prostate tests.
The state government has allocated RM3.4 million for Selangor Saring, which is meant to help around 39,000 people, especially those with a history of hereditary ailments, overweight individuals, or those living unhealthy lifestyles.
Aside from free health screening, various activities have been organised for the event, including musical performances by artists such as Wany Hasrita, aerobics, people’s sports competition, e-sports and blood donations.
Also to be carried out is the handover of aid from Selangor Poverty Eradication Blueprint and Selangor Micro Entrepreneur Fund, a programme by the Association of Wives and Women Members of the Malaysian Civil Service (Puspanita) Selangor and health forum.
The initiative is realised with an RM350 million allocation, replacing the Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat programme so that more people can benefit from the state government’s programmes.
This includes Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (Bingkas) which replaces Kasih Ibu Smart Selangor (Kiss) and will help up to 30,000 families compared to 25,000 before.
