SHAH ALAM, June 16 — The Selangor Special Needs Children (AnIS) preschool programme will begin with 80 special needs children aged five to six years old.

Its department head Danial Al-Rashid Haron said all students are slated to begin learning sessions at the support centre in Section 7, here, in August.

“Before entering Year One, the students will be exposed to training and self-management skills. This effort enables the children to be self-sufficient and care for themselves when they begin school.

“They need to take a test to determine their level of mastery before preschool ends. Those who complete the programme can continue in mainstream education,” he told SelangorKini.

Danial said the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) had provided the preschool centre, which is undergoing renovations.

“We hope that all local governments would collaborate to develop such facilities so that more special children are exposed to opportunities for the future,” he added.

Danial said the programme is open to all special needs children born in Selangor with a learning disability, and registration could be made at www.anisselangor.com/prasekolahanis.
