SHAH ALAM, June 2 — A premise selling and collecting second-hand clothing has been sealed off for operating without approval by the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS).
The action was taken following an inspection conducted at Lot 792, Jalan Kuala Kubu Baru - Rasa (Ladang Ulu Selangor) in the Rasa subdistrict. During the inspection, a worker was seen loading the second-hand clothing into a trailer using an excavator.
Also seized were a trailer and an excavator that was used under the By-Laws 3 and 38 (1) of the Trade, Business and Industry By-Laws (MDHS) 2007.
“Further investigation found that the premise did not obtain any approval or permission (to operate) from any agencies including MPHS.
“The owner also failed to present any (supporting) documents to MPHS,” said the local council in a statement today.
According to MPHS, the operation involved 17 officers and workers from the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleaning Department, Enforcement Department, Town Planning Department, Building Department, Corporate Department as well as two police officers.
Commenting further, MPHS said the action to seize the premise was taken to prevent environmental pollution as it is located nearby a river stream.
“The premise conducted their activities near to the main road and its distance to the river stream is approximately 150 metres to 200 metres.
“We will continue to monitor similar activities from time to time,” said MPHS.
