SHAH ALAM, June 1 — The University of Selangor (Unisel) won a gold medal at the 2022 International Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (ITEX 2022) held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre recently.
The state-owned institution said the success was achieved through the creation of a fish food product called Aquabetel.

“Aquabetel is an innovative fish food product which contains protein-based ingredients from aquatic plants and is formulated with selected herbal extracts.
“Not only does it provide the nutrients needed for fish growth but Aquabetel also contains herbal extracts mixed with food which helps to increase immunity levels and resistances against diseases,” Unisel said in a Facebook post.
The product was created by a group of researchers led by Dr Siti Hasmah Mohtar along with Noor Fazreen Dzulkafli, Nur Akmal Suliman, Rozila Alias, Yasotha Sundaraj and Saidina Umar Johari.
The product caught the attention of ITEX 2022 visitors, especially industry players throughout the two-day exhibition, held in KLCC on May 26 and May 27.
