KUALA SELANGOR, April 28 — A total of RM150,000 has been allocated for various Ramadan programmes in the Bukit Melawati state constituency this year.
Its assemblyman Juwairiya Zulkifli said among the programmes implemented were ihya Ramadan, distribution of bubur lambuk and dates as well as donations of Quran to mosques.
"This year, the implementation of the programme differs as it focuses more on the pursuit of good deeds in the month of Ramadan.
“A total of 2,000 copies of the Quran were distributed to eight mosques every Friday. Apart from that, 3,000 bubur lambuk and dates were distributed to the residents,” she said.
Juwairiya said this at the Iftar ceremony and presentation of Aidilfitri contributions at Hotel De Palma Kuala Selangor, here last night.
She added that although the allocation for the programmes was quite large, it enabled more benefits and donations to be given to the people.
