Kumpool to help solve Bukit Gasing transportation woes

SHAH ALAM, April 15 — The newly-launched van hailing app, Kumpool has filled the void within transportation services in the Bukit Gasing constituency and helped solve the woes faced by its residents.

Despite the hype about its name that caught the public’s attention, Kumpool should be applauded for its services to ferry customers from one place to another using a van, at only RM1 per ride.

Bukit Gasing state representative R Rajiv said Kumpool provides an option for the residents within the vicinity who do not want to drive on their own and are reluctant to use other e-hailing services which are more expensive.

“With 130 Kumpool stops across Bukit Gasing, this app is very convenient to use because the user does not need to walk far to the designated stops. All they have to do is book their rides through the app and the app will give the estimated time of arrival.

“For example, the van will arrive in eight minutes, so the user could take a sip of coffee first before walking to the stop.

“Moreover, Kumpool also helps to overcome the lack of parking spaces in this area. Just imagine if more people use this service, more parking spaces will be available,” he said in an interview yesterday.

On April 11, the Bukit Gasing constituency launched a van-hailing service for residents around Petaling Jaya with fares as low as RM1.

As a start, the constituency is offering the first 10,000 rides for free and for those who are interested to use the service need to download the Kumpool app.

Rajiv added at the moment, only two vans are being used to cater to the service. However, they would increase the number of vans should the service receive encouraging responses from its residents.

“Operating from 8am until 8pm every day, one van could fit up to eleven people. We are targeting users of all ages to use this service.

“As for me, the biggest target group for this effort is those who would like to use the service when they want to go to their offices and nearby shops,” he said.
