KUALA SELANGOR, April 13 — The Selangor government has continuously strived and identified the best means to ensure sustainability in the administration of Universiti Selangor (Unisel).
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the move is to keep the higher institution running despite facing the challenges during the pandemic.
“Take, for example, online learning. Unisel was among the earliest to take up the steps to adapt and had held 1,000 hours of online lessons.
“We received good feedback of about 80 per cent from the students who underwent online classes with Unisel, which was proven to be effective for them until they were able to graduate,” he said during the Majlis Iftar Perdana event at the Dewan Konvo Unisel of Unisel’s Bestari Jaya campus here, last night.
Earlier, some 2,000 Unisel staff and students had enjoyed a fast-breaking meal with the Menteri Besar.
Also present were Unisel president and vice-chancellor Prof Dato’ Dr Mohammad Redzuan Othman, state executive councillor for Islamic affairs Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni and Bukit Melawati state assemblyman Juwairiya Zulkifli.
Amirudin had also performed the Maghrib, Isyak and Tarawih prayers with a congregation at the Unisel Bestari Jaya Mosque and handed over “duit raya” to 100 underprivileged (asnaf) students.
