SHAH ALAM, Feb 5 — The Selangor Fruit Valley (SFV) has managed to gain profit every month since the reopening of tourism activities in October last year.
Its marketing manager Nor Rashidah Mohamed Raihan said the profit derives from ticket sales, fruit and vegetable sales as well as fees from seminars and other activities.
“While many tourism centres suffered losses and struggles to bounce back, SFV is still able to survive and our operation is going well until today.
“We also received many positive feedbacks from the visitors, and most of them were excited to experience new things through various programmes and activities provided for them,” she said when contacted by SelangorKini.
In addition, she said the production of vegetables and fruits in SFV farms have increased thus ensuring food security for the state's food supply chain.
“Our main farms are operating at full capacity,” she said.
Spanned across nearly 1,000 hectares of land in Bestari Jaya, SFV features 20 fruits, including starfruits, durian, mango, guava, jackfruit, pulasan and grapes.
In related development, she said cycling activities on the six-kilometer track, which was introduced on January 1, is among the new attractions in SFV.
“As of now, we have welcomed over 200 cyclists who are keen to try the new activities.
“With an entrance fee of RM6 for kids and RM15 for adults, the visitors could also enjoy some fresh fruits and coconut drinks for free,” she said.
