SHAH ALAM, Jan 23 — A total of 1,562 scheduled maintenance work were conducted by Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) last year.

The move was to provide the best services and to ensure the supply of treated water to consumers is always safe and clean, said the water operator.

“We bring joy through various operational initiatives to ensure water sustainability for future generations,” said Air Selangor in a short video shared on Facebook.

In it, Air Selangor announced that it has replaced over 800 kilometres of old damaged pipes since 2016 to secure a sustainable water future for all.

The non-revenue water (NRW) recorded for Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya stands at 28.1 per cent as of November last year, and at 28.6 per cent in 2020.

Air Selangor aims to reduce the NRW rate to 27 per cent this year.

State executive councillor for infrastructure Izham Hashim had previously stated that Selangor aims to reduce its NRW to 25 per cent by 2025, which can be achieved through thorough planning, including the replacement of various components.
