SHAH ALAM, Dec 2 — The initiatives offered by the state government through the 2022 Selangor Budget (#Selangor2022) have been acknowledged as being beneficial by many of its recipients with families.

Private sector worker Fadhilul Izmel Ishak, 33, said as a father he had planned on his child being born in the state, due to the numerous advantages to be gained.

"Be it for newborns via the Iltizam Anak Selangor scheme, and later tuition programmes for the people, up until my child enters an institution of higher learning, assistance is provided.

"Indirectly the initiatives have also resulted in more effective family fiscal planning," he told SelangorKini yesterday.

Similarly technician Najmi Zulfadhli Muda, 34, hopes Iltizam Anak Selangor, which is set to begin next year will take into consideration babies born this year.

"I hope to be a part of the initiative, as my eldest child did not manage to qualify for the Tabung Warisan Anak Selangor Scheme.

"This initiative aids in reducing the people's burden, since the aid provided through the opening of a National Education Savings Scheme (SSPN) account can be used for the future," he said.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had earlier announced a RM3 million allocation for the Iltizam Anak Selangor scheme, which aims for the participation of 30,000 children in the state.

The scheme involves opening a SSPN account for newborns, who will be given RM100 a year over a period of five years.
