KLANG, Nov 30 — Selangor has allocated a total of RM85,000 to 17 public and private higher learning institutions in the state, to organise Covid-19 post-pandemic programmes.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said each institution received RM5,000 as a gesture of support and assistance, in line with the theme of the 2022 Selangor Budget ‘Kita Selangor: Staying Resilient, Uplifting Lives’

“The state government as a caring government always emphasises the development of the people, including the elderly, persons with disabilities, as well as students.

"I hope this contribution will help the parties involved in organising various programmes," he said.

Amirudin’s remarks came after officiating the Menteri Besar's Dialogue Programme with Student Leaders at the Selangor Institute of Higher Learning near the Wyndham Acmar Hotel, last night.

The dialogue programme, which lasted almost an hour, aims to create a network of cooperation between the state government and student leaders throughout the state. .

The program is also an effort by the state government to provide exposure to these groups on leadership and community networking, including their contribution towards Selangor’s goal of achieving its Smart State aim by 2025.

The institutions that received the donations include Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, International Islamic University Malaysia, Universiti Malaya, Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia, and Universiti Teknologi MARA.

They also include Universiti Selangor, Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor, Pusat Pembangunan Kemahiran Teknikal Negeri Selangor (STDC), German Management Institute, Universiti Kuala Lumpur, and Multimedia University.

Other institutions that also received it were Management and Science University, Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Unitar International University, Limkokwing University and Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.
