SHAH ALAM, Nov 16 — Some 700 Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) staff made the Corruption-Free Pledge, as part of the Integrity Day at Wisma MBSA earlier today.

This is part of efforts to form transparent civil servants who do not abuse their power, as well as prevent them from getting involved in corruption, said Shah Alam Mayor Datuk Zamani Ahmad Mansor.

"I always emphasise to the personnel to maintain work ethics and the appropriate integrity, which should be each individual's practice," he said during the officiation of the programme, themed 'Integrity Always at Heart'.

Also in attendance was Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Selangor director Datuk Alias Salim.

MBSA also launched a Corruption Risk Management book and the Disciplinary Management Procedures book at the event, to encourage personnel awareness.

Zamani said the books are one way to augment and strengthen good administration, as well as deal with the potential for corruption and malfeasance.

"The launch of the books is the starting point for MBSA in paving a way to ensure integrity is implemented properly, and counter abuse of power within the organisation," he said.
