SHAH ALAM, Oct 10 — Selangor has recorded RM1.79 billion in revenue collection, or 81.48 per cent of its target of RM2.2 billion this year as of September 30, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the collection is extraordinary, as the state has been under the effects of the Movement Control Order since early this year.

"To date, approximately RM819.57 million or 67.18 per cent has been spent on management. The MCO has had its effects on the collection, and some things were unable to be carried out fully.

"The development expenditure amounts to 47 per cent or RM523.45 million, many projects could not be paid but will usually be completed by the year's end. The additional cash on the books is estimated to be RM449.15 million," Amirudin said during the Selangor Budget 2022 briefing session at Hotel Wyndham in Klang yesterday.

He explained the budget, to be tabled on November 26, will be debated for a week before being approved in September.

"It is part of the plan and state fiscal plan in facing the future. The budget this time will deal with several situations, which will certainly refer to the pandemic situation," Amirudin said.
