SHAH ALAM, Oct 4 — The Selangor Fruit Valley (SFV) has recorded 1,122 visitors within two days of resuming its operations.

Its marketing manager, Nor Rashidah Mohamed Raihan, said the centre for agrotourism in Bestari Jaya received 605 and 517 visitors on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

She said the encouraging numbers were recorded after the centre temporarily halted its operations for a week due to maintenance work and a standard operating procedures (SOPs) upgrade.

“Previously, we recorded over 800 visitors in one day after the advertisement for its reopening was broadcast on social media.

“Based on current developments, we expect that the number of visitors will be increased from time to time especially after several improvements have been made (at the centre),” she said when contacted by SelangorKini.

She assured that even though the centre received a large number of people, the situation was under control and no SOP were violated.

“Even though the place is big, we have not had any difficulty in ensuring that our visitors comply with the SOPs. They are constantly reminded to follow all the rules.

“We have also stationed a staff member at the main entrance to check the visitors’ vaccination status and to ensure that only those who have been fully inoculated can enter. As for children, they must be accompanied by their parents,” she said.

SFV tickets are RM15 for adults and RM10 for children and senior citizens. Non-citizens have to pay RM30 for adults and RM25 for children.

SFV spans across almost 1,000 hectares and showcases 20 types of local fruits including star fruit, durian, mango, guava, jackfruit and pulasan.
