SHAH ALAM, Sept 1 — Water supply has been fully restored by 12pm today in about 26 per cent of the 463 areas that were hit by unscheduled water cuts yesterday, says Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor).
In a statement today, Air Selangor stated of the five districts affected, Petaling and Kuala Langat were still at a zero recovery rate.
Hulu Langat has recorded the highest restoration rate at 61.1 per cent, followed by Sepang (43.3 per cent), and Putrajaya (17.4 per cent).
“Water supply is expected to fully restore in all 463 areas by midnight, September 3. The recovery period of the water supply varies depending on the location and distance of the premises.
“Water tankers are still delivering water to the affected users and critical premises and this would continue until supply is fully restored,” the statement read.
Air Selangor had reminded the public to comply with physical distancing and to wear face masks when collecting water supply from the water tankers.

Yesterday, the Sungai Semenyih Water Treatment Plant had temporarily ceased operations following the odour pollution detected at the Jenderam Hilir Raw Water Pump Station at 11.10am.
A total of 463 areas in five Air Selangor regions, namely Petaling (172 areas), Hulu Langat (54 areas), Sepang (194 areas), Putrajaya (23 areas) and Kuala Langat (20 areas) had experienced unscheduled water cuts.
