Covid-19 situation subsides but stay vigilant, people told

SHAH ALAM, Sept 30 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari expressed his gratitude for the recovery of Covid-19 cases in the state, based on the declining number of bed usage capacity and admissions into Intensive Care Units (ICU).

However he reminds the people to remain cautious, and continue with the new norm by wearing face masks, observing physical distancing, and practicing self-hygiene.

“Alhamdulillah (praise be to God), the situation in Selangor is getting better. The number of cases, bed usage capacity and ICU admissions has decreased. We must not be careless.

“Continue the new norm practice, wear a face mask, observe physical distancing and self-hygiene,” he said on Facebook.

Meanwhile in a voice recording during the Selangor State Assembly, Amirudin warned the people in the state to continue adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOP) to ensure that today’s success is not in vain.

“Again, my warning, do not be too happy. Yes, we see the light at the end of the tunnel, but we also have to learn a lesson from other states.

“If we do not continue practising the new norm such as wearing the face mask, washing hands, we still consider this as a pandemic instead of an endemic, it (the success) will be ruined,” he said.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister announced that Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya will move into Phase Three of the National Recovery Plan, starting tomorrow.Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the phase shift was made after taking into account the current risk assessment by the Health Ministry and the National Security Council.
