MB shares three methods for state adolescents to get vaccinated

SHAH ALAM, Sept 29 — Teenagers in Selangor can get vaccinated via three methods which are based on the categories of school they are enrolled in, said the Menteri Besar.

For students from fully-residential schools, special education residential schools and daily residential schools, vaccination appointments must be made through the MySejahtera app, explained Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

Teenagers in day schools, special education day schools as well as international schools need to follow the vaccination schedule which can be checked through the school.

"If there are parents who signed the consent form but are unable to attend with the child, they need to submit a letter of representation for a representative aged 18 and above to accompany the child," he said on Facebook today.

Amirudin said teenagers in institutions of higher learning, those being homeschooled, or those who did not go to school, could walk in at any vaccination centre listed according to its operating days.

On September 20, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced its target to fully vaccinate 80 per cent of teenagers before the school session opens next year.

Its Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the MOH is also targeting 60 per cent of teenagers aged 12 to 17 to get at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine by November.
