MBI allocates RM30 million for CSR programmes throughout the year

AMPANG, Sept 23 — A RM30 million allocation has been set aside by the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) (MBI) for various assistance programmes throughout 2021.

MBI’s Corporate Social Responsibility head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said that as of September, nearly RM20 million has been spent on main programmes including the Selangor Internet Data, the Selangor People’s Tutoring Programme, as well as the transportation rebate to vaccination centres.

“For the remaining months of 2021, we will carry out the Back To School programme apart from the Deepavali and Christmas donation programme.

“The allocation that we have utilised was not focused only on food basket and people-oriented programmes, also covers environmental, animal as well as religious programmes,” he said after handing over RM50,000 donation to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty To Animals (SPAC) Selangor, yesterday. 

Previously, MBI has also assisted several parties including former athletes and celebrities who are facing hardships in their lives.

Among them are singer Ali XPDC, comedian Hamid Gurkha, former state football player Azhar Sharif, the guitarist Kid.

MBI is also set to provide assistance to legendary singer Datuk Jeffrydin.

It has also spent RM800,000 to provide the food basket for those who have been affected by Covid-19 from January until July this year.
