PONTIAN, Sept 22 — The late Shari Mokhsin, father to Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, was laid to rest at Kampung Islam Parit Asam Kumbang Muslim Cemetery, in Benut, here at 10.40am today.
Earlier, Shari’s body was shrouded at his residence where a funeral prayer was later held.
Amirudin led the funeral prayer attended by immediate family members, which were conducted in line with the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad came to pay his respect last night, while Johor State Legislative Assembly Speaker Suhaizan Kaiat visited today.
Shari, 67, died at about 5.30pm yesterday due to a heart attack.
The Drainage and Irrigation Department retiree leaves behind his wife, Urian Parmin, 67, six children and 22 grandchildren.
Amirudin is the second child of six siblings.
