SHAH ALAM, Sept 21 — The state government welcomes all citizens, including foreigners, to get vaccinated under the Selangor Vaccination Programme’s mobile unit (Selvax mobile), said Selangor Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari.

He added the initiative that started visiting various constituencies earlier this month is aimed at ensuring the state achieves herd immunity.

“Realising that no one is safe until everyone is safe, I would like to take this opportunity to announce that Selvax mobile has started going to various state constituencies to vaccinate the people of Selangor.

"The state government welcomes all Malaysians and non-citizens to participate in this vaccination drive," he said in a message on Facebook today that was posted in conjunction with the Moon Cake Festival.

Amirudin also reminded the public to continue living in the new norm when the pandemic becomes endemic.

"We have been fighting the Covid-19 pandemic for the past 18 months. Today, we have a better understanding of the invisible enemy compared to when we first started,” he said.

The Selvax mobile programme, which commenced on September 12, is to ensure that no citizen of the state is left out of receiving vaccinations.

The initiative is implemented in stages, covering state constituencies such as Bandar Baru Klang, Batu Tiga, Tanjung Sepat, Gombak Setia, Bukit Antarabangsa, Batang Kali and Hulu Bernam.

The program is open to individuals aged 18 and above, including foreigners, all participants must register using the SELangkah mobile app.
