SHAH ALAM, Sept 15 — Forest Eco Park as well as hiking and climbing trails in permanent reserve forest remained closed under Phase Two of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
Selangor Forestry Department (JPNS) in a notification dated September 11 informed that all operations and activities in the areas are not allowed for the time being.
Two days ago, a video showing huge crowds of visitors in an believed to be Sungai Pisang Waterfall went viral as the recreational activities carried out there were allegedly not approved by the authorities.
In a response, JPNS had insisted that no activities permits were issued in the Forest Eco Park as well as hiking and climbing trails under Phase Two of the NRP, cited by Kosmo yesterday.
Its director Datuk Ahmad Fadzil Abdul Majid said the agency has closed the entrance to said areas.
Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya have shifted into Phase Two of the NRP from September 10.
The transition has allowed for some relaxation such as inter-district travels for those who have completed vaccination.
