State rep: Don’t wait, sign up now for vaccine

By Siti Rohaizah Zainal

SHAH ALAM, Sept 14 — The people are advised to submit their names for the Selangor Vaccination Programme’s mobile initiative (Selvax mobile) at their respective village head offices rather than take the wait and see approach.

Batu Tiga state assemblyman Rodziah Ismail said the village heads have already compiled a list of names since two weeks ago. However some people have chosen not to take any action.

“Some of the residents asked if the vaccine is really for free and some of them are taking the wait and see approach. But when the programme starts, they may not want to miss the opportunity and may cut the queue.

“The state government is serious about this programme which provides the people with free Covid-19 vaccines,” she said after overseeing the Selvax mobile programme at Kompleks Padang Jawa in the Batu Tiga constituency, today.

She also urged all village heads to conduct a check to determine who among their community have yet to be vaccinated.

“When we have a list of names, it will be easier for the state government to provide the vaccine. The vaccine supply is sufficient but we need to manage the programme including preparing the vaccination and registration counters.

“By giving their names to the village heads, the registration and vaccination processes will be smoothed out and we can also ensure that the vaccine stocks are sufficient,” she said.

Selvax mobile, which operates from 9am to 5pm daily, was initiated to ensure that no one is left out from getting their vaccination.

It will be on for a week at Bandar Baru Klang, Batu Tiga, Tanjung Sepat, Hulu Bernam, Gombak Setia, Bukit Antarabangsa, Batang Kali, Banting, Teratai, Dengkil and Kampung Tunku.
