SHAH ALAM, July 4 — Selangor’s cashless Citizen E-Payment Platform (CEPat) app has recorded a transaction value of over RM1.38 million after almost two years in service.
State executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han said the amount recorded in May involved payment transactions of over 34,000 users in eight local councils in the state.
“We received good response from the users since many are opting for online transactions.
“The state government will be coming up with various digital services while continuing its promotion on CEPat so that it will be fully utilised by 2022,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini.
Beginning January 16, the use of CEPat was made mandatory for the Smart Selangor Bus service.
The centralised e-payment platform for payment services with the Selangor government was introduced in August 2019 and offers several features such as online payment of assessment tax, compounds, parking fee, utility bills and top up prepaid cards.
CEPat is available for download on Google Playstore and Apple AppStore.
