SERI KEMBANGAN, June 25 — Action can be taken against registered employers found to be charging their employees for Covid-19 vaccine jab, says state executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud.

She said under the terms of agreement companies that registered via the SELangkah app to acquire the vaccine will have to bear all costs.

“Employees charged with a lump-sum payment or salary deduction are urged to lodge a complaint so we can know the company and the date of vaccination. We will search (for the employers) based on the records.

"If it happens (employees being charged), we will hand over to Selgate Corporation Sdn Bhd for further action," she said after visiting the Covid-19 screening programme organised by the Seri Serdang constituency today.

On June 9, Selangor Menteri Besar during the Kita Selangor 2.0 Package announcement informed an allocation of RM200 million for the Selangor Covid-19 Vaccination Programme (SCVP).

Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said based on discussions with the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA), the vaccine will be supplied in batches starting from the end of June.

The programme focuses on vaccinating senior citizens, industrial and factory workers.
