SERI KEMBANGAN, June 25 — Seri Serdang state constituency conducts a targeted screening programme at the Stadium MBSJ Serdang Jaya here today due to the difficulty in breaking the Covid-19 chain of infection.
Its state assemblyman Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said the free screening by her service centre aims at curbing the spread of Covid-19 in the community and thus avoid an increase in deaths.
She said there are still Covid-19 cases that involved residents in the areas, in fact, eight deaths were recorded in Serdang Jaya since November last year.
"It is hoped that the residents will undergo this screening so that positive cases can be detected, then quarantined at home with the provision of self-monitoring tools," she said after visiting the programme today.
About 1,000 individuals are expected to participate in the screening using the Antigen Rapid Test Kit (RTK-Ag) from 9am to 6pm today, with 400 participants already registered through the SELangkah mobile app.
"The staffs involved will work to ensure to achieve this target as the main challenge is bringing the senior citizens to the screening," she said.
