JERAM, June 7 — A total of 65 out of 2,616 participants of the free Covid-19 community screenings in Batang Kali and Jeram were suspected to be Covid-19 positive, says the Selangor Task Force Operation (STFO) director Dr Muhammad Farhan Rosli.

He said the screenings using Antigen Rapid Test Kit (RTK-Ag) in Batang Kali involved 1,687 individuals with 53 cases of suspected positive, while in Jeram 931 were screened and 12 suspected Covid-19 positive.

"We hope individuals suspected to be positive will undergo a self-quarantine and comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs) despite having no symptoms or not wearing a quarantine bracelet," he told SelangorKini today.

The free community screening programme organised by the state government took place at the Bukit Sentosa Community Hall in Batang Kali and at Kampung Bukit Kuching Tengah Public Hall in Jeram, today from 9am to 4pm.

Yesterday, Dr Muhammad Farhan asked individuals suspected of being positive not to panic and patiently wait for a call from the district health office to undergo Real-Time Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test to confirm the status of the infection.

The free Covid-19 screening initiative by the Selangor government is being carried out across its 56 state constituencies from May 8 until June 10.

The program under the Covid-19 Pandemic Mitigation Phase benefits people who are at risk, have been in close contact, have symptoms and are worried about their health status, so far it has been carried out in 46 state constituencies.
