KLANG, May 31 — People residing outside of Klang have taken the opportunity to undergo the free Covid-19 community screening before the full lockdown is enforced tomorrow.
Selcare Clinic manager Mohd Noor Md Nasir said between 5 to 10 per cent of those participating in the testing operation in Pandamaran and Sentosa today are those who are not from the local community.
“Many of them are attending the screening programme following the announcement of the closure of many social and economic sectors.
“We encourage those from other areas to take part in the screening and they can signup via the SELangkah app or website,” he said when met at Dewan Pandamaran Jaya, here yesterday.
On Saturday, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said that the decision to proceed with the screening programme will be discussed by today after it is finalised in a meeting with the National Security Council.
The Selangor government has actively monitored the Covid-19 situation in the state by initiating the free screening programme throughout its 56 state constituencies from May 8 to June 10.
The initiative, which has been carried out in 34 state constituencies to date, is to benefit those who are at high risk, close contacts and anyone who would want to verify their health status.
